2022 is rockin’ and rollin’ here at Kiefer Jewelers and we are excited to officially be in the Valentine’s Day season! This is one of our favorite holidays of the year because we like to believe that love is our speciality. Featuring an array of inspiring materials, all my jewelry is crafted by hand, one piece at a time, to your exact specifications. My designs have dozens of details and steps that have to be mastered to create a finished piece I am proud to sell. My jewelry is all made in America and my trusted long-term vendors allow me to source many of our raw materials from right here in the USA as well. My studio is actually based in Florida, near the Kissimmee area.

Irene’s 25th Anniversary at Kiefers
If you have been shopping at Kiefer Jewelers for a while, chances are that you have worked with Irene at some point in time. Irene Terry actually worked for Kiefers before any of us worked at Kiefer Jewelers! She worked with the Kiefer family when they still owned the store. It’s a funny story actually. The Kiefers forget to mention to David and Wendy Hevia that they had an employee before handing over the keys to the store. And they also forgot to tell Irene that they were selling the business to the Hevia family. So Irene unknowingly showed up to work for what she thought was a normal day of work to find out that the ownership had changed. After a few awkward moments of confusion, David and Wendy asked “well do you want to work for us now?” and that’s how Irene became their first employee. 25 years later she still works for Kiefer Jewelers and we are so grateful to have her as part of our team today. Next time you stop into the Dade City store, make sure to say happy anniversary to Irene!
Jewelry Appraisal Day

Did you get some new bling for Christmas? Or maybe you have some jewelry that you have had for a long time that you either never got insured or haven’t been re-appraised in over 5 years? Did you know that gold and diamond prices have almost doubled from what they were 5 years ago? Even if you have your jewelry appraised, if you have a loss or theft now, most likely you would not be able to replace your jewelry for the amount that you have it appraised for. That means you will have to settle for something smaller or of lower quality or you will have to come out of pocket to replace the item! And if you still don’t have your jewelry insured, well what are you waiting for? It’s so easy these days to get your jewelry insured for less than $100/year. And did you know that you can even make insurance claims for large repair charges on your jewelry? It’s a no-brainer to get your jewelry insured.
Now to get your jewelry insured, you will usually need an updated appraisal. That’s why every month we host a jewelry appraisal day. On this one day each month, we bring in an independent GIA appraiser to offer this service to our clients. We like to use a third party for these services so that you know this is an unbiased evaluation of your jewelry, especially if you purchased it from us here at Kiefers. Our annual jewelry buying event that happened January 25-27 was a huge success! We purchased over $100,000 of jewelry and valuables from our community! But don’t worry if you couldn’t make it to our event. Amethyst- February Birthstone & 6th + 17th Wedding Anniversary
Amethyst was as expensive as ruby and emerald until the 19th Century, when Brazil’s large deposits were discovered. It was believed to prevent intoxication—amethystos means “not drunk” in ancient Greek. Today, as the most valued quartz variety, amethyst is in demand for designer pieces and mass-market jewelry alike, and it's purple to pastel hues retain wide consumer appeal. Amethyst is the birthstone for February but it’s also the gemstone of the 6th and 17th wedding anniversary.
