Local Jeweler Named 20 Under 40 in Jewelry Retail
Jewelers of America names North Tampa-based jeweler Alexandra Hevia Schlindwein of Kiefer Jewelers to the 20 Under 40 List of the Jewelry Industry!
New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has named Alexandra Hevia Schlindwein of Kiefer Jewelers in North Tampa, FL as one of the recipients of the 20 Under 40 in Jewelry Retail List. Jewelers of America’s 20 Under 40 is a new recognition program that celebrates young professionals who exemplify leadership skills and a commitment to elevating jewelry retail for tomorrow’s jewelry consumers.
A panel of industry judges reviewed nominees from JA Retail Members across the country and had the difficult task of narrowing the applications down to the 20 individuals who best embody an ability to lead, innovate, and improve a jewelry store's success while adhering to professional ethics. Alex was selected as one of the recipients of this prestigious award.
“Jewelers of America’s 20 Under 40 in Jewelry Retail List was designed to recognize young and talented individuals in all facets of the retail jewelry industry. Alex possesses all the qualities and leadership skills that will help to pave the way for a brighter future and the next generation of jewelry industry professionals,” says Jewelers of America President & CEO David Bonaparte.
Alex currently serves as the Marketing Director at Kiefer Jewelers, managing social media, digital communications and e-commerce, as well as serving as the diamond department buyer and Rolex specialist. Alex grew up working in her parent’s jewelry store, and after experiencing multiple different jobs in the jewelry industry including Marketing Director for Cheri Dori’s bridal line, she eventually returned to her parent’s third store as General Manager. During her time in that role, the company’s sales grew an average of 20% annually. She has since stepped away from that role to start a family and transitioned to Marketing Director to customize and improve the company’s marketing techniques. Alex was one of the founding members of the IJO Next Gen Board of Directors and is active in her Lutz, Florida community. She is also currently leading a new mission for sustainability in the business.

USF Advances to Eighth NCAA Tournament; Faces Miami in the First Round
The ninth-seeded Bulls will face the eighth-seeded Hurricanes on Friday in the opening round at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C. Why do we care about this here at Kiefers? Well because we are the official jeweler of the USF Bulls men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as the USF Bulls football team! You can catch our Kiefer Kiss Cam at all home games and you never know when you may be picked to pucker up! Here are some more details on what this really means to our Bulls
USF is advancing to its eighth NCAA Tournament in program history, earning the No. 9-Seed in the Greensboro Region, and will face eighth-seeded Miami (Fla.) in the first round at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C. on Friday, March 18 at a time to be announced.
The USF/Miami winner will advance to the second round on Sunday, March 20, to face the first-round winner between No. 1-seed South Carolina and the winner of the play-in game between 16-seeds Howard and Incarnate Word.
This marks the 39th meeting between the Bulls and the Hurricanes, with Miami holding a 27-11 series lead. The Hurricanes lost to NC State, 60-47, on March 6, in Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.
USF Notables: USF is currently 24-8 on the year and went 12-3 in American Athletic Conference play this season.
Brittany Griner Promoted To Store Manager of Lutz
If you have shopped at Kiefers for a while, you probably have worked with Brittany Griner at some point in time. Brittany has worked for Kiefers for over 11 years and she has just recently been promoted to the store manager of the Lutz location. Brittany has held other positions like Pandora Boutique Department Manager, Store Manager for the Dade City location, and Assistant Manager for the Lutz location. Brittany has worked hard to earn the respect of her team and clients and we know that our Lutz location is in great hands with her in charge. Make sure to congratulate Brittany next time you visit our Lutz location!
Brianna is Back!
You may recognize this familiar face. Yes it’s true, Brianna Breese is back working at our Lutz store after an almost 2 year hiatus from the company. We are so glad to have her back and we know she is excited to jump right back in and help you find the perfect piece of jewelry for any occasion.
