One hop, step and a hurricane later and here we are in October! What a way to end September with power outages and flooding. We hope that you and your families are all safe from Hurricane Ian. We got lucky here at Kiefer Jewelers as we did not experience any major damage to our stores or to our employees' homes. But we know that is not the case for many across the state of Florida. That’s why we have decided to donate a percentage of all of our sales for the month of October to the Red Cross Hurricane Ian Relief Fund. If you are thinking of making a purchase sometime in the near future, we would like to encourage you to make your purchase in October to allow us to pass the proceeds on towards this cause. We would also like to encourage our followers to support the cause in any way possible, either financially or with donation items. For more information on how you can give back, click here. Stay tuned on our social media pages to see the progress of our fundraising efforts and we greatly appreciate your support to help rebuild our beautiful state.
Remodel Complete
Tada!! After over 2 months of having our Lutz store torn up and blocked off, our remodel is finally complete! Just to recap we painted the exterior of our building (the color is Alabaster from Sherwin Williams for anyone that wants to copy us), changed the signage and updated the awnings on the building. The sign still said "Kiefer Village Jewels" even though we had dropped the word "Village" over 5 years ago so it was definitely time for an update. And what a difference it makes! Our new signage features energy efficient LED lights in which we can update the colors with just a click of a button. We can also change the colors of the diamond on our building so are excited to program it to festive colors during the holidays. We love how modern and clean the outside looks and we will begin this process for our Dade City store soon so stay tuned for updates on our remodel at that location.

Colony Reeves and New York City Fashion Week
The hit Netflix TV series called Selling Tampa has quickly become one of the most bingeable shows of the year. The series features Tampa real estate group Allure Realty and one of the stars of the show is none other than Colony Reeves. Colony was actually born and raised in Tampa and she is passionate about supporting locally owned businesses like Kiefer Jewelers. We were honored and flattered when she chose to partner with us. She found out last minute that she was invited to New York City Fashion week and she was even asked to walk in one of the runway shows. Of course this meant she needed some decadent jewels to dazzle in while walking the catwalk in New York City. She came into Kiefer Jewelers and we helped curate three looks to match her outfits for the show. It was so much fun getting to follow along as she galavanted around New York City. Here are the looks that Colony wore and the links to everything in case you want to steal her look. Stay tuned to see what event we may be dressing her for next.
Since John Hardy has it's US headquarters in NYC, we felt it was apropos for Colony to wear the new John Hardy Fall Collection for one of her looks. We dressed her in this stunning 14mm curb chain that John Hardy created to be worn by both men and women. And she wore the transformable earrings and bracelet to match. These pieces paired perfect with her refined yet rugged look.
John Hardy Sterling Silver 18" Curb Chain $1,995 or $498.75/month
John Hardy Sterling Silver Remix Tranformable Bracelet $625 or $57/month
John Hardy Sterling Silver Remix Drop Link Earrings $450 or $41/month
For her next look, we felt like we needed to add some bling. Here she is wearing our 1 carat total weight 7 station diamond dangle necklace and diamond cluster earrings from Roberto Coin.
14K 1ctw 7 Station Diamond Necklace $3,080
18K Diamond Sunburst Earrings $2,100 or $525/month
Isn't Colony pretty in pink in this look? Here she is rocking our pink sapphire station necklace and earrings paired with 6.5 carat total weight pear shaped diamond bracelet.
14K Pink Sapphire and Diamond Station Necklace $1,999 or $499.75/month
14K 6.5 Carat Total Weight Pear Shaped Diamond Bracelet $14,250
14K Pink Sapphire and Diamond Earrings $1,999 or $499.75/month
Re-Scheduled the Roberto Coin Trunk Show
Our Roberto Coin Trunk Show was originally scheduled the week that Hurricane Ian decided to make his appearance. Although we were back open for normal operations, we felt like it would be in poor taste to still host the trunk show when there was so much damage and destruction around the state of Florida. So we decided to push back the Roberto Coin Trunk Show to Saturday November 19th which will be just in time for Thanksgiving!
Roberto Coin is one of our favorite designer lines because it’s all designed in Italy, the fashion capital of the world. Each piece is produced in 18 karat gold so you can feel the weight of the craftsmanship from the second it touches your skin. Roberto Coin likes to place a hidden ruby on each piece that is strategically placed to touch the wearer’s skin, bringing good luck and prosperity. Some of the collections include The Perfect Hoop, Pois Mois, Love in Verona and Venetian Princess. Whether you are looking for a bold statement piece to an everyday classic style, the Roberto Coin collection will leave you wanting nothing more.
Just as a reminder, on this day we will have an extended collection of Roberto Coin jewelry and you will receive a FREE gift with your Roberto Coin purchase. Sip on your beverage of choice while you take a private tour of Italy. Click here to make an appointment now.
The Evolution of the Kiefer Shopping Bag
We are still celebrating our 65th anniversary here at Kiefers and for this month’s newsletter we thought it would be fun to show you the evolution of the Kiefer shopping bag! We have always taken pride in the presentation of the special gifts that our customers select at our store. And we want you to leave our store with a gift that doesn’t need further gift wrapping or packaging and is able to be presented to the recipient just as it is. We want to make sure that when our customers see the Kiefer bag, they light up with excitement and anticipation of what may be inside. The quality of our products is mirrored by the feeling that you get when your hand touches the handle of our shopping bags. Without further ado, here are some of the past shopping bags:
This is the bag that we introduced in 1997 when the Hevia family took over and rebranded the store. This green color was our signature color for over a decade. This bag featured a green marbled look with gold lettering.
This was the bag that we introduced at our 50th anniversary paired with the unveiling of the Kiefer Knot which still serves as the icon of our logo. This bag was an asymmetrical design that gradually became wider at the top. We decided to ditch the green and go with a more neutral gold and black look.
This next bag was simplistic and elegant with the uniform cream background and just the logo. This bag was used during the early 2000's.
And last but not least, we are excited to unveil our newest bag that will be rolling out soon! This bag has a gorgeous pearlescent texture with an ivory wrapped cord handle and a satin bow which holds the top of the bag closed. We love how simple yet luxurious this new design is and it completely fits the re-design of the outside of our building as well.
New Arrivals to the Estate Case
As you all know, Estate jewelry is one of our passions because we love giving unwanted jewelry a new life. We are constantly buying unwanted and broken jewelry from our customers that we completely refurbish before re-selling in our stores. It’s such a great example of the popular saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. It’s also great for the environment since no further mining is needed to re-circulate this item through the marketplace. And we are always surprised at the amazing finds that come through our doors. Just a reminder that each Estate piece is essentially one-of-a-kind because it can’t just be re-ordered like other items in our store. So if you see something you like, GET IT because they usually don’t last long. You can always return it if it wasn’t what you were thinking it was going to be once you see it in person. Here are some of our favorite new arrivals to our Estate Jewelry Case.
Estate Tiffany & Co Platinum Ruby & Diamond Heart Shaped Necklace $1,199 or $299.75/month
Estate 10K 20" Rope Chain $699 or $64/month
Estate 14K Three Stone Diamond Ring $699 or $64/month

Preferred Platinum
We just recently added a new program called Preferred Platinum which is an extended warranty plan for your jewelry. Some of you may know about our Preferred program that is included with most of our fine jewelry purchases, but Preferred Platinum takes it to the next level! Here are the similarities and differences between the two programs:
The Preferred Platinum plan is a one and done program as you only have to pay the fee once and you have lifetime coverage up to the appraised value of the item. The Preferred Platinum plan covers things like damage or loss to your center stone which is not covered in the free version of the Preferred plan.
The Preferred Platinum plan also has options for watches. The watch plan is only for 5 years at a time but it’s great because it covers repair charges caused from dropping the watch or submerging it in water plus much more.
Want more information on Preferred Platinum? Contact us now to speak with one of our jewelry specialists to get all your questions answered.
October Birthstones: Opal & Tourmaline
Those born in October enjoy two spectacular birthstones to commemorate their birthdays – opal and tourmaline. Both October birthstones have endless color combinations and beautiful coloring characteristics. The name of this, the traditional October birthstone, is believed to have originated in India (the source of the first opals brought to the Western world), where in Sanskrit it was called upala, a “precious stone." .” In ancient Rome, this became opalus. Most opals are valued for their shifting colors in rainbow hues – a phenomenon known as “play-of-color.”
The October birthstone’s dramatic play-of-color has inspired writers to compare it to fireworks, galaxies and volcanoes. Bedouins once believed opal held lightning and fell from the sky during thunderstorms. Ancient Greeks thought opals bestowed the gift of prophesy and protection from disease. Europeans long maintained opal to be a symbol of purity, hope and truth. Hundreds of years ago, opal was believed to embody the virtues and powers of all colored stones.
Opal is also the stone given to celebrate the 14th wedding anniversary. Click here to shop our opal jewelry.
