2021 was a great year at Kiefer Jewelers, a record breaking one actually thanks to all the love and support from our loyal customers and community. As we all sit back to reflect on the previous year and set goals for the year ahead, we want to let you know what’s new at Kiefer Jewelers this January.
Derrick Pyke Celebrates His 3rd Anniversary at Kiefers
To recap December 2021, we were excited to celebrate Derrick Pyke’s 3rd anniversary with the company. In case you didn’t know, Derrick relocated from New Mexico where he actually worked for his own jewelry business alongside his father. This is where his in-depth knowledge of the jewelry business stems from and he has only continued to grow in his knowledge since working for Kiefers. He is now the store manager of the Lutz store and he has accomplished over one million dollars in sales two years in a row now! Unfortunately it was a very busy day at the store when we celebrated his anniversary and we weren’t able to get a photo of him with his anniversary cake before he dove in! Make sure to congratulate Derrick next time you are in the store!
Brittany Griner Is Acknowledged For Hitting One Million Dollars In Sales
Another exciting accomplishment was recognized in our Lutz store this December, our assistant manager Brittany Griner accomplished over one million dollars in sales for her second year in a row! Brittany has been with the company for over 11 years now and she has worked hard to develop her customer following. She is known for being patient with her clients, always taking as much time as needed to find just the right item for her clients. Brittany was recognized with a custom crystal award to acknowledge this feat. You will notice that the award has a touch of her favorite color, rose gold. Make sure to congratulate Brittany next time you are in our store!

Jewelry Appraisal Day
Lutz: Wednesday Jan 12th
Did you get some new bling for Christmas? Or maybe you have some jewelry items that you have had a long time that you either never got insured or haven’t been re-appraised in over 5 years? Did you know that gold and diamond prices have almost doubled from what they were 5 years ago? Even if you have your jewelry appraised, if you have a loss or theft now, most likely you would not be able to replace your jewelry for the amount that you have it appraised for right now. That means you will have to settle for something smaller or of lower quality or you will have to come out of pocket to replace the item! And if you still don’t have your jewelry insured, well what are you waiting for? It’s so easy these days to get your jewelry insured. And did you know that you can even make insurance claims for large repair charges on your jewelry? It’s really a no brainer to get your jewelry insured.
Now to get your jewelry insured, you will usually need an updated appraisal. That’s why every month we host a jewelry appraisal day. On this one day each month, we bring in an independent GIA appraiser to offer this service to our clients. We like to use a third party for these services so that you know this is an unbiased evaluation of your jewelry, especially if you purchased it from us here at Kiefers. Our appraiser works by appointment only and charges start at $125/item. Click for more information on our appraisal services and to make an appointment.
Jewelry Buying Event Jan 25-27
We are excited to bring back our big jewelry buying event of the year January 25-27 where we partner with one of the largest estate jewelry buyers in the country: National Rarities. We do gold and diamond buying all year round at Kiefers but for these three days only we will have representatives from the company National Rarities to help us offer the highest amount for your unwanted items. For a little more background on the company, National Rarities have been in business since 2009 and they pride themselves on customer service and offering fair prices. With a staff specializing in a wide variety of backgrounds including watches, jewelry (GIA), fine art, collectibles, and war memorabilia, they are ready to help you make an informed decision when selling your items. Because they hold over 160 events annually, they are also able to offer a large variety of estate pieces for sale so they are bringing in a selection of premium estate jewelry that we will be showcasing as well. For a few interesting stats, each year National Rarities appraises over 400,000 items! So they really know what they are doing! This is your chance to get top dollar for your unwanted items.
Here's a list of the items we are looking for at this event:
-fine jewelry (doesn't matter if it's broken or damaged)
-diamonds (all shapes, sizes and qualities)
-watches (designer watches like Rolex, Cartier, Patek & more)
-coins & currency
-scrap gold & silver
-sterling silver flatware
-fine art
-vintage toys & advertisements
Appointments are recommended so that you don't have to wait to see one of our buyers.
You can also receive an additional 20% if you trade-in towards a new piece of jewelry from our store! (excludes Rolex)

January Birthstone - Garnet
Garnet is the birthstone for January and it is also the gemstone for the 2nd wedding anniversary. Garnets are known to be a romantic deep maroon color but they actually come in a variety of colors including green, orange, purple, and even blue. Thousands of years ago, red garnet necklaces adorned the necks of Egypt’s pharaohs, and were entombed with their mummified corpses as prized possessions for the afterlife. In ancient Rome, signet rings with carved garnets were used to stamp the wax that secured important documents.
